The Turini trapped many pilots but it also
crowned a great number during the 101 stages of its history. Hundreds
of drivers climbed it, there are some who succeeded in overcoming it,
the continuation of their career confirmed their talent. Among them,
one will more particularly retain two men, two "giants" of
the Turini : Bernard Darniche who obtained the bar of 10 victories on
the Turini including 4 in 1979 ; and Carlos Sainz, double-world champion,
recordman of the number of victories (26), author of 95 world championship
podiums, and 8 times winner of the Turini ! Timo Mäkinen, Sandro
Munari and Didier Auriol supplement the podium with 5 successes.
